Privacy Policy — Slipnest
1. The short version
Slipnest does not collect your data. It has no account, no login, no server and no internet
permission. Everything you type stays in the app's private storage on your own device.
2. What Slipnest stores on your device
- Shops you add — name, optional area, optional phone number, optional notes.
- Drop-offs you add — item name, optional category, quantity, optional token number,
dates, status, optional amounts, optional notes.
- Optional photos you attach, copied into the app's private folder.
- Your app settings — theme, currency symbol, default promised-date offset, and whether
the daily reminder is switched on.
This information is held in a private database that only Slipnest can read. Uninstalling the
app deletes it.
3. What Slipnest does not do
- It does not request the
INTERNETpermission, so it cannot transmit anything anywhere. - It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting libraries.
- It does not read your contacts, location, call log, messages, camera or media library.
- It does not create a profile of you, and there is nothing to sell.
4. Permissions
| Permission | When it is requested | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Only if you switch on the daily reminder in Settings | Showing one local summary a day of items waiting at shops |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Never prompted (a normal permission) | Re-arming that same optional reminder after a restart |
No other permission is declared. Decline the notification permission and the rest of the app
works exactly as before.
5. Photos
If you attach a photo to a record, Slipnest uses the Android system photo picker. That gives
the app access to the single image you chose and nothing else — no storage or media
permission is requested. The image is copied, downscaled and stored privately inside the app.
6. Backups you create
Settings → Export writes a JSON file to a location you choose using the Android file
picker. That file is yours: Slipnest never uploads it, and where it goes afterwards is
entirely under your control. If you place it in a cloud-synced folder, that cloud provider's
policy applies to it, not this one. **Exported backups contain your records but not your
photos.**
Android's automatic cloud backup is switched off for this app, so your records are not
copied to Google's servers by the operating system.
7. Children
Slipnest is a general-purpose household utility. It is not directed at children and it
collects no personal information from anyone.
8. Your rights
Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no account to close and no server-side
copy to request or erase. You can export everything at any time, and *Settings → Erase all
data* removes every record and photo permanently.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will ship with a new release of the app and be
published at https://zamzammithaiwala.online/slipnest-privacy-policy.html.
